JAMMU, Dec 1: Team effort and Rajkumar Bakshi’s continued brilliance helped University of Jammu to thrash SKUAST Kashmir by a big margin of 35 runs and register their third consecutive win in the ongoing All India Vice Chancellors Cup T20 Cricket Tournament at Mumbai today.
It is pertinent to mention here that it is the 4th consecutive year that the University of Jammu is proving its mettle in this prestigious tournament.
Earlier, batting first, Jammu University (JU) scored a decent total of 156 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Niranjan was the top scorer with 32 runs, while Abhinav and Rajkumar contributed 28 and 22 runs to the total respectively. Vishal and Daud Iqbal also chipped in with 20 and 16 runs respectively. For SKUAST Kashmir, Sajjad, Amin and Ishtiaq took 2 wickets each by conceding 25, 28 and 36 runs respectively.
In reply, SKAUST Kashmir, managed to score 121 runs in the allotted overs by losing 9 wickets, thus lost the match by 35 runs. Tariq, Rafat and Imtiaz contributed 35, 21 and 17 runs to the total respectively. For Jammu University Rajkumar and Pawan scalped 3 wickets each by giving away 26 and 7 runs respectively, while Daud, Rajesh and Sandeep claimed one wicket each.
