UDHAMPUR, Oct 23: Two days Junior District Kabaddi Championship, organized by Udhampur District Kabaddi Association under the banner of J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association concluded at Subash Stadium, here today.
Rayees Mohammad Bhat, Senior Superintendent of Police Udhampur was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed the mementoes and medals among the winners and the runner-up teams.
The chief guest appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee for smooth and successful conduct of the tournament. Sapna Kotwal, Deputy District Election Commissioner Udhampur was the guest of honour.
The tournament was organized under the patronage of Anil Gupta, President J&K Amateur Kabaddi Association and under the Chairmanship of Ravi Basandi, President Udhampur District Kabaddi Association.
Among others who were present on the occasion were Kuldeep Gupta, CEO J&K Kabaddi Association; Surinder Mohan, General Secretary J&K Kabaddi Association; Brij Mohan Sharma, Ashok Sharma, Ranbir Singh, Vikram Salathia, Vijay Manhas, Pushpjeet Singh, Zameel Singh, Jugal Kishore, Sanjeev Verma, Ravi Kumar, Vipin Photra, Vishal Bamotra and Ram Kumar.
Earlier, in boys section, Udhampur Kabaddi Club defeated Majalta Club by 30-16 points in the summit clash to win the title, while in girls’ section, Udhampur Kabaddi Club drubbed Jaganoo Club by 29-09 to bag the trophy.
Raj Kumar and Sunil were adjudged as the best raiders and Satinder Singh was awarded best catcher in boys section, while in the girls section, Kanika was declared as the best player.
The matches were officiated by Ajit Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Rakesh Khajuria, Parshotam Kumar, Angrez Singh, Pushp Kumar, Ramesh Chander, Rishi Sharma and Bikram Singh.
