Jodhamal students spread awareness for Earth Hour, Women Empowerment

JAMMU, Mar 27: Under the aegis of JK chapter of WWF with one day to go with the biggest ever Earth Hour, Jodhamal Public School students spread the awareness campaign for two major problems faced by Human Race, one of  Energy and Power Resources and the other of Women Empowerment.
Students performed a Nukkad Natak as to why to bear this discrimination and presented the power point on Earth Hour and what all Jodhamal has done during last three years towards the Environmental issues and Social issues.
The ‘Earth Hour’ organized by WWF has evolved into the world’s largest environmental grass roots movement connecting hundreds of millions of people across all seven continents.
Jodhamal School family proudly announces their extra-ordinary involvement in ‘Earth Hour Celebration’ since last 3 years with activities happening beyond the hour. Today, the students of JPS took the initiative to celebrate Earth Hour at the Wave Mall and committed to go beyond the hour by spreading the message through a ‘Nukkad Natak’ the theme taken up – a brilliant one – Women Empowerment, which had featured to improve female literacy, create skills, compatibility among woman for enabling them to stand on their own feet and care for themselves & family and have the right to women’s marriage.
There was a musical dark hour was shown by the students in a form of a PowerPoint documentary, followed by  the theme “Save Electricity” which would give awareness about climate change.
The teachers who helped the kids were Reema Mahajan,Sonia Mahajan, Deepak Kumar, Subhash Dey, Poonam Mahajan and Roopinder Kaur.
Vice Principal Monika Sethi appreciated the efforts of all the staff & students and the chief guest, Dr C M Seth, Chairperson WWF Jammu Chapter also appreciated the efforts and lauded the Principal Trilok Singh Bist for all his initiatives for the Earth Hour Celebration since last three years.
