JAMMU, Dec 4: Jodhamal Public School celebrated its XII Annual Day, which was meticulously planned by staff and students from V to XII.
This was the programme where the students showcased their talent in the form of a spectacular extravaganza.
Kuldeep Khoda, Commissioner, Central Vigilance Commission J&K presided over as the chief guest and Gouri Banerji, Eminent Author and Playwright, Meenakshi Kilam Oswal, Director Quality Assurance Jammu University and Vijay Puri, Eminent Educationist were the guests of honour.
The programme started with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest and other dignitaries followed by a welcome speech by the Head Boy, Hasit Sachdev.
The sophisticated and melodious music by the School Chorus and Orchestra rented the air and mesmerized the hall packed audience. Art and Craft Exhibition was organized, wherein about 100 painting, were displayed for the parents and visitors. The main attraction was the ‘Best out of Waste’ made by the students from Primary to Class XII.
Prize winning ceremony happens to be the most awaited event of the Annual Day. Top achievers of Class XII were awarded. 68 students of Class X, who got 10 GCPA had already been felicitated during a special prize distribution ceremony along with their parents for getting laurels to the school. Students, who excelled in the various International, National, State and Inter-District Championships were felicitated too. The winners and awardees of Duke of Edinburgh (IAYP) and British Council were accredited. The School also has the honour to be accorded and awarded Gold Award by Generation Global – A Tony Blair’s Foundation, UK.  A documentary on the CSR events done by the students and teachers in the adopted Govt. schools, River Tawi campaign and Street plays on contemporary and social issues was also shown.
The main highlight of the programme was Ramayana enacted in the poetic form.  Ramayana, which has been a base of India Cultural Heritage and this play was performed under the guidance of Gouri Banerji, an eminent and acclaimed author and playwright of high repute. The student presented the saga to bring out the importance of one’s ‘dharma’ and imbibe the values of Harmony and Happiness.
The Rudra and the Virat Roop of Lord Shiva and the joy & ecstasy with vigour of of the GANAS was shown in the form of SHIV TANDAV.  Next was the girls of VIII, IX and X performed the “EAST meets WEST” showcasing the Kathak & Bharat Natayan along with Manipuri was enjoyed by all.  Mime too was appreciated.  To laud the Defence Forces an action song was enacted in their honour.  Next to follow was a Sufi Song and dance by the students of Class XI.
The Trustee of the School, Mr Nandan Kuthiala welcomes and announced a new Rai Bahadur Jodhamal Kuthiala Scholarship for girls studying in classes 9th to 12th in Govt. Schools, affected by cross border shelling.
The Principal, Trilok Singh Bist read out the Annual Report giving the highlights of the session 2016-17 and the same was applauded by a thundering applause from the spectators. The Principal also mentioned that Jodhamal was the only School in J&K to have been awarded the coveted Six Star Gold Rating till 2018 By The Council Of Standard Education Reform, Uk.
The chief guest congratulated the management, staff and students for working with zeal and enthusiasm for making the Annual Day memorable.
The XII Annual Day concluded with the vote of thanks presented by the Head Girl, Navisha Gupta followed by the National Anthem.
