Jodhamal celebrates Annual Day with pomp & show

JAMMU, Dec 12: Jodhamal Public School celebrated its 11th Annual Day with pomp and show, here today.
Kavinder Gupta, Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly was the chief guest for this occasion and Parvez Dewan, former Tourism Secretary, Govt of India was the guest of honour.
The programme started with the lighting of the lamp by the chief guest and other dignitaries and a welcome speech by the Head Girl Akanksha Sharma.
The melodious music by the School Chorus & Orchestra had soothing effect on the audience. Instrumental hits  like Come September, Lara’s Theme, Karz & Taquila enthralled the audience.
An open air Painting and Sketches Exhibition was organized where more than 400 paintings of the students were displayed.
Invoking of God was performed by the students of 8th, 9th and 11th classes in the form of Hanuman Chalisa.
The highlight of the programme was the dance drama The Wizards of MoH produced and directed by Naveen Chopra, famous theatre personality.
It depicted the various aspect of Human Being viz MOH, GYAN, DHAN, KARODH and LABH. Miss Rebeakah Jerram and Ms Lauren Bridgeman, UK based Teaching Assistants had prepared the students of Class VI-VIII for the Fusion Contemporary Dance, which the students performed very well and got a thundering applause from the audience.  Next to follow was enthralling dance Nat Nagar Ki Hai Yeh Leela by the students of Class IV.
The Excellence Awards were given to the top scorers in Class XII and 10 CGPA in Class X, who excelled in the various International, National, State and Inter-District Championships.  The awardees and winners of the Duke of Edinburgh, British Council, CBSE Merit holders and IAYP were also felicitated.
The Trustee of the school, Nandan Kuthiala presented welcome address.
The Principal, Trilok Singh Bist read out the Annual Report giving the highlights of the session 2015-16, which was appreciated by the audience in a thundering applause.
The chief guest, Kavinder Gupta congratulated and applauded the staff and students for working with zeal and enthusiasm for making the annual day function, commendable.
The programme ended with the vote of thanks presented by the Head Boy, Abhijeet Kumar Arora.
