75th Junior National Basketball C’ship

JAMMU, Sept 4: The Jammu and Kashmir boys’ team continued their strong run at the 75th Junior National Basketball Championship, registering three wins out of four league stage matches.
The championship, which is currently underway in Ludhiana from September 2 to 9, has witnessed spirited performances from the J&K side. In their latest outing, J&K defeated Bihar by 49-32, showcasing solid defense and coordinated teamwork.
Earlier, the team notched up convincing victories against Manipur (62-45) and Andaman & Nicobar (59-10). Their only setback came against a formidable Telangana side (78-47). J&K will now take on West Bengal tomorrow their final pool match, aiming to advance to the next stage of the tournament. The J&K Basketball Association has commended the efforts of the players and the leadership of Coach Sachin Dogra, while also expressing gratitude to the J&K Sports Council for its support in the team’s pre-tournament preparations.
Notably, nine players from SAI STC Jammu feature in the current UT squad — a testament to the growing grassroots basketball ecosystem in the Union Territory.
