REASI, May 26: Wrestler Bablu of J&K Police lifted the 13th Koarnu Dangal Title 2025 by defeating Harsh of Ladopur, Bahadurgarh (Haryana) in a neck-to-neck contest held at village Koarnu, District Udhampur. Bablu, winner of the 1st malli main bout, received a cash prize of Rs 12,000, while runner-up Harsh was awarded Rs 9,000.
The Dangal was organized by the Young Youth Koarnu Dangal Committee in association with the J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, under the supervision of Ratten Langeh and Lochan Singh.
MLA Udhampur East Ranbir Singh Pathania was the chief guest, while Sub-Inspector Azhar was the guest of honour. The function was presided over by Shiv Kumar Sharma, former Joint Secretary of the J&K State Sports Council and President of the Association.
In total, 34 bouts were played. Rajesh Sharma of J&K Police defeated Amit of Delhi in the 2nd malli bout. Other winners included Rakesh (Goldi) of Ramnagar, Ali of Hoshiarpur, Jakker of Kathua, Amit of Delhi, Rahul of Jindrah and Surinder of RS Pura. A match between Shotu of Jindrah and Sonu of Dinanagar ended in a draw.
Organizing members included Amaru Langeh, Prem Nath, Hans Raj Langeh, Romesh Lalotra, Suresh Banotra, Girdhari Lal (Retd. Master), Hans Raj Banotra (PDD) and Ratten Langeh. Shiv Kumar Sharma appealed to youth to adopt sports as a way of life.
