JKP to host UT level U-19 Cricket tournament

JAMMU, Feb 18: Jammu & Kashmir Police is going to organize a 4-day long UT level under-19 Cricket tournament, here from February 28 to March 3 under its Civic Action Programme.
ADGP Armed J&K SJM Gillani has been designated as Nodal Officer for the conduct of tournament at Jammu for identification/ selection of best players amongst the four teams (two each already selected from Jammu & Kashmir Zones) on the basis of their performance exhibited by them during District/ Range/ Zonal level Under-19 Cricket tournaments managed by ADGP Jammu Zone and IGP Kashmir Zone.
The team thus selected in the UT level under-19 Cricket tournament shall be UT (J&K) Police team for participation in National and Regional level tournaments.
In this connection a meeting was convened by Dushyant Sharma-SSP SO Sports APHQ J&K today to discuss and deliberate upon several preparatory issues for successful conduct of aforesaid tournament which was attended by the experts and former cricketers including Ashwani Gupta selector Ranji trophy cricket team, S.Kamaljit Singh, cricketer, Rajesh Gill CPO, former cricketer J&K besides DySP Sports Syed Sajad Hussain and many others.
J&K Cricket Association Ground at Science College Jammu has been identified as the venue for conducting the event.
