JKP to lock-horns with BSF Jammu in summit clash

JAMMU, Nov 2: Defeating their rivals convincingly in the semifinals, BSF Jammu and JKP have sealed berth in the finals of Shaheed Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Hockey Tournament today and will take on each other in the summit clash at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here tomorrow.
Earlier, in the first semifinal, BSF Jammu got better of Khalsa Club Gole Gujral by one goal to nil (1-0). Anish Kumar was the goal scorer, who netted it in 18th minute of the match. Dr SK Bali, Head of the Department, Nephrology, Government Medical College Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, while Dr SS Sodhi was the guest of honour.
In another semifinal match played today, JKP blanked Hirannagar  Hockey Club by seven goals to nil (7-0). Surinder Singh and Skinder Pal Singh pelted 2 goals each, while Sunil, Manjeet Singh and Sohail Azim scored one goal each. MLC Charanjeet Singh Khalsa was the chief guest on the occasion, while Jaswant Singh, retired Assistant Commissioner was the guest of honour.
The matches were officiated by Jagjeet Singh, Karanjeet Singh and Joginder Singh, while the tournament is being organized by Kashmir Sikh Sangat (KSS), under the aegis of Hockey J&K.
The tournament is being held under the supervision of Dr Dhanwant Singh, Chairman KSS, Satinder Singh Bali, Coordinator of the event, TP Singh, Organising Secretary and Karamjeet Singh, General Secretary KSS.
