JKFA discusses calendar of activities; bats for laying Astroturf in Jammu

JAMMU, Feb 26: Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) today held a meeting to discuss the calendar of activities and chalk out a future programme to reach out every nook and corner of the Union Territory.
The meeting was attended by all Associates and direct members along with office bearers of the District Football Associations (DFAs).
Surinder Singh Bunty, Treasurer JKFA while speaking on the occasion detailed the members about the calendar of proposed activities and highlighted the problems being faced by the Association in view of lack of required infrastructure.
He demanded Astroturf (artificial playing facility) in Jammu at the earliest and enhancement in the existing grant-in-aid for domestic activities.
Mr Bunty said that the existing football infrastructure was insufficient in Union Territory and with the improving standard of football at national scene, J&K has lot to do.
Earlier, members of the Association expressed satisfaction over the successful completion of recently held 27th J&K Football Championship in Jammu involving 46 teams across Jammu and Kashmir.
The JKFA also expressed gratitude towards the Government for extending a helping hand to the Association.
Chairman of the DFA Jammu, Narinder Gupta also highlighted various activities being conducted by the Association. Prominent among those who attended the meeting were Kuldeep Singh (Vice President JKFA), S M Gill (Ex-MLC and direct member), Yusuf Don (secretary DFA Jammu), Bharat Bhushan and Charanpreet Bagga (executive members), Mohan Lal, David Burrat, Moon Stephen, Shakeel Tony, Shoib Geelani, Rajinder Sen, Owais Ganai, Rajinder Singh and Varinder Singh.
