JAMMU, Apr 27: After its grand success in the 1st Edition last season, which witnessed the participation of over 50, 000 cricketers across the State, the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) is holding District level Tournaments this season also, the Jammu district leg of which will begin at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here from tomorrow.
The tournament will be held under the overall supervision of Member Judicial State Human Rights Commission, Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member JKCA.
Patel Cricket Club will take on Kiwi Cricket Club in the inaugural match.
The tournament will be inaugurated by Director General Youth Services and Sports, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman at 10 am tomorrow.
“In the first phase of the tournament, T20 matches will be held in all districts of the State. Top teams in each district will play 50-over matches in order to provide opportunity to maximum cricketers to showcase their talent. This process will help the Association in picking the players on merit,” said Jang Bahadur.
