JKCA Green, Red register wins

JAMMU, Feb 20: JKCA Green and JKCA Red outplayed their rivals in the ongoing T-20 Quadrangular Cricket Series, being organized by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association to pick the players for the forthcoming Vijay Hazare and Mushtaq Ali Tournaments at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Earlier, in the first match, JKCA Green defeated JKCA Blue by 41 runs.
Batting first, JKCA Green scored a decent total of 152 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Arshad Khawaja top scored with 48 runs, while Shubam Pubdir and Hardeep Singh contributed 36 and 22 runs respectively. For JKCA Blue, Ramdayal and Amir Nazir took 2 wickets each, while Mohd Mudasir, Asif Rasool, Sohail Andleeb and Manik Gupta claimed one wicket each.
In reply, JKCA Blue bundled out for 117 runs to lose the match by 41 runs. Aditya Pratap Singh top scored with 31 runs, while Hilal Ahmed and Amir Aziz contributed 17 and 12 runs respectively. For JKCA Green, Abid Nabi, Mehjoor Sofi, Raman Dutta, Rahil Singh and Arshid Sheikh.
In another match, JKCA Red got better of JKCA Orange by 12 runs.
Batting first, Red team rode on superb 35 off 18 deliveries, studded with 8 boundaries by Vimarsh Kaw and equally good knock of 37 runs by skipper Samiullah Beigh scored good total of 160 runs. Ahmed Banday, Paras Sharma and Ishtiaq Rasool contributed 24, 19 and 19 runs respectively. Abid Mushtaq and Omar Nazir claimed 2 wicket each for JKCA Orange.
In reply, JKCA Orange despite a superb knock of 49 runs by skipper Adil Reshi failed to chase the target and fell short of 12 runs as the team managed 148 runs in 20 overs. Adil hit 5 fours and 2 sixes in his knock. Ameek Khan also contributed 37 runs to the total. Vijay Dogra was pick of the bowlers for JKCA Red, who bagged 3 important wickets, while Waseem Raza and Syed Sagar took 2 wickets each.
