JKCA begins interaction with Clubs, holds vaccination camp

JAMMU, July 5: Three members sub-committee of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) comprising of Brig Anil Gupta, senior Advocate Sunil Sethi and International cricketer Mithun Manhas has begun the process of interaction with Clubs and District Associations in accordance with the direction of the J&K High Court, here today.
The first such meeting was held at the Jammu office of JKCA wherein Dr Ashutosh Sharma of National Cricket Club (NCC) Jammu and Vinod Kumar Sharma District Association Jammu interacted with the sub-committee members. The meeting was held separately with representatives of both Club and Association.
The sub-committee members heard the views and suggestions of the representatives in accordance with the direction of the Court. All the suggestions were noted by the members’ sub-committee and also discussed the ways for resumption of cricketing activities in J&K.
Meanwhile, the JKCA also conducted a day long COVID vaccination camp for players and its employees at its Jammu office, Hostel Ground, GGM Science College Jammu.
Earlier, the JKCA asked all the players to get fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to become eligible for National/UT level events to be organised by the BCCI/JKCA. It is pertinent to mention here that the BCCI has already issued its calendar for the year of 2020-21 and the first tournament is scheduled in September, 2021.
The camp was organised for all players (men and women) in age group of 18 to 44 who had yet not taken the vaccination. The camp was organised with the cooperation of DC Jammu, Anshul Garg and Health Department.
As per press note, nearly 50 young and budding cricket players availed the opportunity to take first dose of COVID-19 vaccination.
