J&K youth excel in Youth Rural Games C’ship-2021

JAMMU, Feb 1: Youth of J&K Union Territory excelled in Youth Rural Games Championship-2021 by clinching various medals especially in Kabaddi, Volleyball, Cricket and Athletic competitions, organised by Youth Rural Games and Sports Federation of India in Punjab from January 30 to 31.
Nearly 84 youths from J&K UT represented J&K in this championship in the forms of teams and individuals. The J&K youth won one Bronze medal in Kabaddi Senior category and Silver in Kabaddi Junior category, whereas Silver medal was also clinched in Volleyball under-19 category and Gold in Volleyball under-17 categroy and each Gold and Silver medal in Cricket under-19 and under-17 category respectively besides various medals Athletic competitions under various categories.
All the 84 youth were selected in UT level selection trials which were held at Udhampur by J&K Youth Rural Games and Sports Association, run by Harman Cultural and Educational Society.
They were accompanied by coaches including Sweety Jyotshi (Yoga official), Sourabh Kumar (Tug of War official) and Gurpreet Kour (Kabaddi official)
