J&K wrestler Benia Min lifts 3rd Hut-Parthal Kesari title

KATRA, May 21: 3rd Annual Hut-Parthal Kesari Vishal Dangal was organized by Hut-Parthal Dangal Committee Katra in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association at Serbad, near here today.
The event was held under the overall supervision of president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sarpanch Rattan Singh with other members of the Dangal Committee.
40 bouts were played in the Vishal Dangal, wherein wrestlers from Punjab, Harayana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Chandigarh and J&K participated.
Superintendent of Police, Katra, Kulbir Singh was the chief guest on the occasion, who gave away cash prizes to the wrestlers. Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Mr Shiv Kumar presided over the function. Mohan Lal Baba Ji of Aghar Jitto was the guest of honour.
The first main bout was fought between J&K Police wrestler Benia Min of Basantgarh in Udhampur and Sonu of Akhara Ladpur in Harayana. This bout, which lasted for 4 minutes and 25 seconds was won by Benia Min.
Winner Benia was awarded with cash prize of Rs 16,000, while runner-up wrestler Sonu got Rs 15,000. 2nd main bout was won by Wrestler Sukha of Rajasthan who defeated Wrestler Sombir of Ladpur Akhara in Harayana.
