J&K wins 7 medals in open Taekwondo meet

JAMMU, June 19: Jammu and Kashmir won seven medals in the just concluded 2nd India Open International Taekwondo Olympic Ranking Championship (G1 level) held at Gachibowli Indoor Sports Complex, Hyderabad in Telangana.
The medals tally included gold, silver and five bronze in different weight and age categories, a handout issued by the J&K Taekwondo Association here today informed.
While Amandeep won gold, Mufti Sauleh secured silver. Achutam Dev Singh, Afreen Hyder, Sadia Tariq, Zain Nazir and Salvi Saini bagged bronze medals. Earlier, State Association deputed a big contingent of 57 boys and girls for this open invitational event.
Meanwhile, Association president, D.N Pangotra congratulated the whole team for the performance.
