J&K wins 2nd runners-up trophy in National Speed Ball C’ship

JAMMU, May 21: Jammu and Kashmir Speed Ball Team won 2nd runners-up trophy in the National Speed Ball Championship, organized recently by the Speed Ball Federation of India at Rajasthan.
About 300 students of 6 States took part in this event wherein 35-member team under the supervision of Sunny Nanda took part and J&K team won 2nd runners-up Trophy while Rajasthan got the 1st place and Delhi claimed third place. J&K team won 10 gold, 9 silver and 12 bronze medals.
Among those who won gold medals in their respective categories were Shivam Chadan (RHS), Lavya  Mahajan (JSS), Paras Singh (MPS), Aarsh Jasrotia (DAV), Maiyank Mahajan (MPS), Megha Pathania (DPS), Rehaan (JSS), Tamana Antahal (APS Udhampur), Dhruv (JSS), Sunny Kumar (CS Club), Goutam (CS Club), Renu Devi (Crescent Sports Club), Sushant Thakur (DHSS) and Mantaya Sharma (HPS).
Four J&K players (gold medalists) were selected for 2nd Open International Tournament to be held at Preveza Greece on 3rd week of June. The players are Renu Devi, Dhruv Choudhary, Sunny Kumar and Goutam.
