JAMMU, Dec 1: JK Warriors clinched the 5th IFCR North Zone Cricket Trophy in a thrilling final match played at the Country Ground in Gharota, here today.
The match, part of the IFCR Cricket League, saw a dramatic finish with JK Warriors defeating Himachal Hurricanes by just one wicket on the last ball of the 20th over.
Himachal Hurricanes set a challenging target, posting 152 runs in their allotted 20 overs. In response, JK Warriors chased down the total in a nail-biting finale. The victory marked the second consecutive title defence for JK Warriors.
The closing ceremony was attended by PDG Dr. Dushyant Choudhry, who presented the champion’s trophy to JK Warriors’ captain, Dr. Rajpal Singh. Awards were also presented with Jameel named Man of the Series, Sonu Malhotra as Best Player of the Match, and Dr. Gopal as Best Bowler. Gaurav Surochya was awarded Best Batsman, while Surinder Soni was named Best Bowler from Himachal.
