JAMMU, Feb 25: Representing the State in the 24th National Bench-Press Powerlifting Championship at M A Stadium, the State team brought laurels to J&K by bagging galaxy of medals.
The players who won gold medals in men’s section included Vikramjeet Singh, Manoj Singh (2 gold), Susheel Kumar and Raza Rabani, while Abhishek Vaid won bronze.
In women’s section, Sunita Verma won silver and bronze medal, while Kiran Jamwal, Jyoti and Rachna won bronze medals.
Vinay Sharma became the powerman of India.
The team was honoured today at Jammu by the Managing Committee comprising of Rajan Jain, general secretary, Narinder Singh, secretary and other officials of the Advisory Board namely Surinder Singh (Gilli), joint secretary, Nishant Verma, vice-president, Vinay Sharma, media secretary, Nitin Gupta and Sidharth Bhalwal.
