JAMMU, Apr 2: J&K Sports Climbers gave a good account of themselves in the 14th St. Stephen’s College Delhi’s Open Sport Climbing Competition held in the college premises, recently.
Three J&K climbers won 6 medals including 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze medals.
In the boys category, Ajay Deep Singh claimed a Gold in speed climbing while Arun Deep clinched a Bronze medal. Arun who also bagged a bronze medal in Lead climbing in the Boys category turned out to the darling of the crowd when he startled the senior climbers by generating terrific speed to win a silver medal in speed climbing in the men’s category.
Shilpa Charak, a senior climber also performed well to bag a Silver medal in speed climbing and bronze medal in Lead climbing.
On their return from Delhi, the climbers along with General Secretary of Mountaineering Association of J&K, Ram Khajuria called on Rahul Sharma, Chairman, Sprawling Buds ICSE School, Bantalab Jammu where they had been training for the last about a month.
Rahul Sharma congratulated the climbers for their magnificent achievement in the national level competition and assured them all possible help for the promotion of the game.
