J&K shines at 31st Sub-Junior & Sr National Thang-Ta C’ship

JAMMU, Nov 5: Jammu and Kashmir Thang-Ta team delivered an exceptional performance at the 31st Sub-Junior and Senior National Thang-Ta Championship 2025, held at Madgaon, Goa, from 28th to 30th October.
A strong contingent of 82 players represented the Union Territory of J&K and displayed remarkable skill, discipline and sportsmanship throughout the event. Competing against participants from 26 States across India, the J&K team demonstrated both technical excellence and team spirit.
With a collective and determined effort, the J&K Thang-Ta team achieved an impressive medal tally – 14 Gold, 21 Silver, and 17 Bronze medals – securing an outstanding 2nd place overall in the championship.
This remarkable success is a testament to the growing strength and popularity of Thang-Ta in J&K, reflecting the hard work of the players, coaches, and the continuous support of the J&K Sports Council.
The achievement not only highlights the sporting talent of the Union Territory but also inspires young martial artists to take pride in this traditional Indian martial art form and pursue excellence at the national and international levels.
