Jammu, Feb 19: The Jammu and Kashmir Senior Softball team have been selected after a thorough screening process conducted by the Screening Committee of the Jammu & Kashmir Sports Council. The screening, held at the New Indoor Sports Complex, M.A. Stadium, Jammu, was led by Baljinder Pal Singh, Divisional Sports Officer Jammu, and supported by other committee members.
In preparation for the upcoming 46th Senior National Softball Championship, the J&K Softball Association, in collaboration with the J&K Sports Council, organized a 21-day Residential Coaching Camp from January 30 to February 19 at the Football Ground, Government Gandhi Memorial Science College, Jammu. The camp focused on enhancing the skills of players and improving team coordination in anticipation of the national competition.
The coaching staff appointments for the teams include Padam Dev Singh as the Overall Team Incharge, Harvinder Singh as the Men’s Team Coach, and Madan Mohan & Javeed Ahmad as Coaches for the Women’s Team. Gulshan Begum has been appointed as the Manager for the Women’s Team.
The 46th Senior National Softball Championship is scheduled to take place from February 22-26 in Amravati, Maharashtra. The J&K Men’s and Women’s Softball teams, both trained and ready to compete at the national level, will represent the Union Territory. Waseem Raja Khan, General Secretary of the J&K Softball Association, expressed appreciation for the support from Nuzhat Gul, Secretary of J&K Sports Council, for providing excellent facilities to the athletes and coaches.
The players selected for the J&K Men’s Softball team are Ajay Singh, Jasbir Singh, Ayush Jamwal, Anmol Singh, Sagar Chib, Pardeep Singh, Jaskaran Singh, Parshant Singh, Usman Bilal, Faizan Bashir, Ansh Goswami, Azan Ul Haq, Fazil Ahmad, Mohd Hussain, Sarbjeet Singh and Nadeem Hussain. The J&K Women’s Softball team includes Shaista Ali, Harleen Kour, Safura Altaf, Lavanya Jamwal, Muneera Hassan, Muskan Devi, Rahee Hilal, Rashi, Areesa, Afnan Fayaz, Shaheena, Shaista Nabi, Nusaiba, Misbah, Farhana and Nidhi.
