J&K secures 5th place in Sub Junior National Wushu C’ship

JAMMU, Jan 30: J&K secured 5th place in the Sub Junior National Wushu C’ship held at Lovely Professional University Jalandhar from January 22 to 22 this year.
In the aforesaid championship, Sana and Ayera Chisti secured Gold medals, while Ansa Chisti and Aliza secured Silver medals. Irfan, Pawani, Hritesh, Solhia, Vidant, Raghav and Mursaleem secured Bronze medals.
Secretary J&K State Sports Council Dr Naseem Chowdhary congratulated the team for winning 11 medals including 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 7 Bronze medals in the nationals.
The first four places where clinched by Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and New Delhi.
Pertinent to mention here that during the year 2017-18, J&K State Wushu team remained runner-up in the championship.
Secretary assured full support for the better performance in the upcoming national and international events.
On the occasion, President of the Wushu Association of J&K Vijay Saraf and CEO Kuldeep Handoo apprised the Secretary regarding the 2018 achievements and requested him for setting up of State Academy for the medal prospectus sports in the State.
Ramees, Aijaz, Rohit Thakyal and Aman Singh accompanied the J&K team as coaches.
