J&K scores 203, Uttarakhand 7/1 on Day-1

JAMMU, Dec 27: Riding on brilliant half-centuries by opener Mohammad Hurrair and skipper Musaif Ajaz, Jammu and Kashmir scored 203 runs in their first innings against Uttarakhand in the Cooch Behar Under-19 Cricket Tournament at Highlands Sports Academy ground, Kashipur in Uttarakhand.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, J&K openers began cautiously and scored 32 runs in 14.1 overs, before Dikshant Kundal was dismissed at his individual score of 11 runs, which was followed by Govind Sharma (0) in the same over at the same score. Wicketkeeper batsman Kanhaiya Wadhawan (5) was the next man to go at the team’s total of 45/3 in 22.2 overs. However, the duo of Hurrair and Musaif made a partnership of 114 runs and took the score to 159 in 67 overs, before the dismissal of Musaif at his individual score of 61 runs off 123 balls, studded with 6 fours and 2 sixes. Mohammad Hurrair played a marathon innings of 71 runs off 221 balls including 6 boundaries. Basit Bashir was the only other batsman to cross the double figure mark, scoring 12 runs. For Uttarakhand, Gourav Negi was the pick of the bowlers, who took 7 important wickets by conceding 19 runs in his 14.1 overs, while Gaurav Chaudhary and Ankit claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Assam were 7/1 when the stumps were drawn today. Kamal was the batsman dismissed bowled by Basit Bashir for 6 runs.
