J&K Police to take on STC Warriors in Basketball finals

JAMMU, Nov 21: Jammu and Kashmir Police and STC Warriors made it to the finals of the district basketball championship being played at M A Stadium.
In the semi finals played in the evening session, STC Warriors beat their juniors STC Terriers by 86- 54, while Jammu Kashmir police beat Jammu district.
Earlier in the day, STC warriors beat 122 TA with a comfortable margin, while STC cubs went down fighting to Jammu district. STC Cubs, mainly comprising of under 17 boys, matched their senior counterparts basket by basket, with Abhinav Sharma, Devyanshu Pandey, Gourav Rajwal, Shivam Heer, Aman Tiwari and Rohit combining well. However, Jammu district had to dish out all their experience to get better of the Cubs.
Match between J&K Police and STC terriers, the B-team of the STC Jammu was particularly thrilling with STC boys forcing Police to work hard for every basket. Police team coach Rohit Chhiber had to use his entire bench to ensure that his team sailed into the semi finals comfortably.
Today’s matches were officiated by Shaktish Chopra, senior basketball coach, Sumit Dogra, Rajesh Bhagat, Abhishek, Vonod Dogra, Ankita Singh and Sneha Choudhary.
The Hardliner match for third and fourth places will be played Sunday morning while the finals will be played in the evening. IGP Jammu, Danesh Rana will be the chief guest.
