J&K Physically Handicapped Cricketers lift title trophy

JAMMU, May 14: J&K Handicapped Cricket team registered emphatic win over Himachal Pradesh to lift the title trophy of the  Physically Handicapped  Cricket Tri-Series at Mandi in Himachal Pradesh.
The Championship was organized by Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association for Divyang under the aegis of Physically Challenged Cricket Association of India.
In the final, J&K Handicapped Cricket team defeated Himachal Pradesh by 3 wickets. Batting first, Himachal Pradesh Handicapped Cricket team scored a decent total of 172 runs in 30 overs by losing 9 wickets. Dinesh Kumar was the highest scorer with 78 runs, while Sanjay Dutt scored 43 runs and Neeraj Saini contributed 15 runs to the total.
From J&K, Amir Rather took 3 important wickets, Firdous Ahmad and Vishno Dev Singh took 2 wickets each, while Jagmohan and Nadeem Bhat claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, J&K chased the target in 25.4 overs by losing 7 wickets thus won the match by 3 wickets. Jagmohan Singh was the top scorer with brilliant 76 runs, studded with 15 boundaries, while Firdous Ahmad scored valuable 33 runs with 4 boundaries and 1 six and Amir Rather was the another notable performer, who contributed 20 runs to the total. From Himachal, Neeraj Saini took 3 wickets while Sanjay, Rintu and Hemraj took 1 wicket each.
Jagmohan was declared man of the match, Amir Rather was declared as the best bowler, while Firdous Ahmad was adjudged as the man of the series.
Rajesh Gill, former Ranji Trophy Player & In-charge of the J&K Physically Handicapped Cricket team lauded the efforts of the players for this achievement.
