JAMMU, Aug 18: Jammu and Kashmir Para Throwball Team is set to participate in the 4th Senior Para Throwball (Men & Women) National Championship scheduled to be held at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, from August 29 to 31.
A 12-member squad comprising Sayed Shah Aziz Shah, Shahid Iqbal, Jagjit Singh, Tarsem Lal, Ravi Kumar, Rahul Sharma, Sunil Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Deepak Sharma, Kuldeep Raj, Gopal Sharma and Nayaz Ahmed has been selected to represent the Union Territory in the event. The team will leave for Coimbatore on August 26 with the aim of bringing laurels to J&K.
Extending their best wishes to the players, Sham Singh Langeh, president of JK Divyang Welfare Association and Pirzada Sayed Nissar Hussain Shah, general secretary, expressed confidence that the squad will perform with determination, discipline and true sportsmanship.
They remarked that the team’s participation goes beyond competition, symbolizing the ability and spirit of para-athletes from J&K to excel at the national level.
