JAMMU, Sept 9: J&K emerged overall champion, while Manipur secure runner up position in the 19th National Thang-Ta Championship, which concluded at Indoor stadium, here today.
On the valedictory function, Dr Mehboob Beigh, Member of Parliament (MP), was the chief guest, who distributed prizes among winner and runner-up teams.
While speaking, Dr Beigh said that Thang-Ta should be promoted and should be a regular curriculum in every school.
Among others present were Prof B A Shah, joint secretary, J&K SSC, Sheikh fazal Ahmad and Madam Tabasum, member Sports Council , H Prem Kumar Singh, president and H Dina Chandra Singh, secretary general Thang-Ta Federation of India and sports lovers.
In the championship, 24 states from different parts of the country participated and exhibited their talent.
