Jammu, Dec 25: Jammu and Kashmir Men lost their pre quarter final encounter to Chandigarh by 80-92 to bow out of the ongoing 70th Senior National Basketball Championship being held at Ludhiana today.
J&k shot into early lead but Chandigarh equalized through a 6-0 run by the end of first quarter. Lead exchanged sides several times before J&K fell into foul trouble and five of its players were playing on four fouls each.
With three minutes to go for the final hooter, J&K were trailing by one basket at 72-74. Ii was then that Iqbal Singh had to leave the flour with five fouls after which Chandigarh had easy go.
J&K tried full court pressure defense with two minutes to go, but it backfired into a 6-0 run in favour of Chandigarh, giving them 92-80 victory.
Ranbir Singh, Shubham Sharma, Amanjot and Jaskirat made major contributions in team’s score.
