J&K Ice Hockey Association framed

SRINAGAR, Mar 19: Ice Hockey Association of India framed its Jammu and Kashmir Ice Hockey unit at Circuit House, Sonwar, here.
A meeting of members was organised yesterday under the leadership of Dr SM Bali, president and Harjinder Singh, general secretary of Ice Hockey Association of India in which all the members have emphasised for the promotion of winter sports especially Ice Hockey in Jammu and Kashmir.
The house unanimously elected Dr SM Bali and Ajaz Rasool Mir as president and general secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Ice Hockey Association and also authorized the president, Bali to nominate the office bearers and executive committee of the association within a week.
The association unanimously decided to host 10th IHAI National Championship for men at the Ice Hockey Rink in Gulmarg. SM Bali along with Harjinder Singh, Ajaz Rasool Mir and Waseem Raja Khan (Host) visited the rink at Gulmarg for on the spot assessment of the facilities to organise National level sports activity. They decided to conduct J&K level coaching camp for boys and girls prior to the National Championship here.
Harijinder Singh shared the past success of Indian National team of Ice Hockey with the house during the meeting. He thanked Minister of State for Youth Affair and Sports, Kiren Rijiju for initiating Khelo India Winter Games here.
