JAMMU, May 30: The Jammu and Kashmir State gymnasts have again kept the State Flag high by winning 9 medals, with 4 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze in the 12th National Aerobic Gymnastics Championships held at Andheri Sports Complex, Mumbai.
In the Senior women, Manpreet Kour of J & K won gold in the individual event, while Mayank Jain and Tejpal Kour also bagged gold in the mixed pair event of Senior Category. Mayank Jain also won bronze in the Individual men’s event of Seniors.
In trio, Parul Mehra, Ravia Verma and Tejpal Kour claimed bronze medals and in Group of Seniors Category, Jaskaran Singh, Inderdeep Singh, Honey Mehra, Parul Mehra, Tejpal Kour and Ravia Verma also won bronze medal.
Meanwhile, in Juniors, Karanjyot Singh of J & K won silver in the Individual men’s event, while in Sub Juniors, Mehak Chettri bagged gold in Individual women’s category, while Gourav Chettri won gold in the individual men’s event.
Manav Gupta and Mehak Chettri claimed bronze in the mixed pair.
According to a handout issued here, Chief Patron of the Association, Dr Farooq Abdullah has congratulated the gymnasts and their coaches for shining at the National scene.
