Jammu, Mar 12: In a bid to contain the spread of novel coronavirus in J&K, the Jammu and Kashmir Government today suspended sports activities in all centres of J&K Sports Council located in the Jammu Province with immediate effect.
The order issued by office of the Divisional Sports Officer Jammu read, “as per the directions of the Secretary J&K Sports Council, sports and coaching activities in all the centres of Jammu province will remain off from March 13.”
The order, however, asked all coaches and trainees to strictly adhere to the directions issued.
When contacted, Ravi Singh, Divisional Sports Officer Jammu said that he issued the order after receiving instructions from Secretary J&K Sports Council, Dr Naseem Javaid Choudhary in this regard.
Pertinent to mention here that the Srinagar Administration has already ordered closure of all sports stadium on Wednesday.
