JAMMU, Jan 28: Students of Jammu and Kashmir excelled at National level Kala Utsav-2020 in different categories, organised by Ministry of Education to promote art in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students at secondary level.
The event culminated on January 22.
Pari Mughda Nischal of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi bagged 1st position in 3D Visual Arts while Bilal Ahmed Malla of Government Higher Secondary School Mujgund Srinagar bagged 1st position in Instrumental Music and Sahil Hilal of Government Boys High School Shalbugh Ganderbal clinched 3rd place in Vocal Music.
Total 18 students from Jammu and Kashmir performed in nine different art forms during the event.
Congratulating the children, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor RR Bhatnagar said that in order to promote “Ek Bharat Shresht Bharat” vision of Prime Minister, Ministry of Education GoI through NCERT organizes annual Kala Utsav for promoting art in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent among the students. “Every year this event is organized at school, district, divisional and State levels before culminating at National level. This event gives students an opportunity to understand and celebrate cultural diversity at school, district, State and national level,” he said.
BK Singh, Secretary School Education J&K lauded the achievements of students and congratulated whole team of Samagra Shiksha for organizing the event successfully from Zonal to National level.
Singh reiterated that along with the classroom learning, co-curricular activities were also integral part of education as per the vision of National Education Policy 2020, whereas Dr Arun Manhas complimented his team for carrying out onerous task smoothly.
The programme was coordinated by Teacher Education wing of Samagra Shiksha J&K.
