Jimmy’s ton goes in vain as Ramban CC scripts last-ball victory

JAMMU, Mar 24: Jimmy’s sparkling century went in vain as Ramban Cricket Club today registered a thrilling last ball victory over Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Club in one off tribute match of Shaheed-e-Azam Gold Cup, organized by SKCC at Satwari Cantt ground, here today.
Earlier, Ramban Cricket Club won the toss and put SKCC into bat.
Batting first, riding on a brilliant ton by Jimmy, Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Club scored a decent total of189 runs in the allotted overs.
In reply, Ramban Cricket Club chased the target on the last ball of the match in an exciting contest.
Vice Chairman Sports Council Jammu and Member BCCI, Ranjeet Kalra was the chief guest on the occasion, who presented trophies to winners and runners-up teams. He also presented awards to the players for their distinction.
Mr Kalra expressed happiness over the SKCC taking keen interest in cricket promotion.
He said victory and defeat were part of the game and this should be taken in true sportsman spirit, adding both the teams played well and made the finals thrilling and interesting till the last ball was bowled.
Mr Kalra complimented the organizers for holding the tourney and said such events would inspire the budding players to demonstrate their talent in a big way.
The match was organized by Aman Cheema, Provincial Joint Secretary YNC and president SKCC.
