Jennie wins Sub Jr Girls title of Jammu Distt Sport Climbing C’ship

JAMMU, May 14: Jennie Bhagat of Muthi (Jammu) won the prestigious Sub Junior Girls title of the 22nd Jammu District Sport Climbing Championship which concluded at Sprawling Buds School, Bantalab.
In a tough contest with Simrandeep of Shiksha Niketan School (Jeevan Nagar, Jammu) and Mishti Sharma of Shangrilla Public School (Sarwal, Jammu) Jennie topped the 40 feet high fibreglass wall in style to emerge victorious. Simran and Mishti Sharma bagged the Silver and Bronze medals, respectively.
However, the Mini Boys category was dominated by climbers of Sprawling Buds School. While Rudra Rajput won the Gold medal, the Silver medal was bagged by Daksh Sharma. The Bronze medal was clinched by Narinder Singh of Shining Star Academy, Muthi.
There was interesting contest among the fresh budding climbers in the Mini Girls category in which Himani Chauhan of Sprawling Buds School secured first position whereas 2nd and 3rd positions were bagged by Dristhi Dutta and Deepika Sajgotra of St Xavier School, Barnai.
In the valedictory function, Prof Lalit Magotra (president of Dogri Sanstha, Jammu) who is also advisor of Tawi Trekkers J&K, was the chief guest, He along with Rahul Sharma (Chairman of Sprawling Buds School) presented medals to the winners of the various categories.
Prominent among others present were Ram Khajuria (senior vice president), Shawetica Khajuria (general secretary), Narinder Singh Slathia and Sakshi Magotra (senior members of Mountaineering Association of J&K) and Seema Sharma (Director of Sprawling Buds School).
