JCC seals berth in finals, Simula enters semis

JAMMU, Apr 24: Star-studded Jammu Cricket Club (JCC) and Simula Cricket Club sealed berths in the final and semifinal respectively in the ongoing 1st Patel Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Patel Cricket Club under the overall supervision of Jung Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member Working Committee JKCA at Parade ground, here.
In the first match, JCC defeated Gorkha Cricket Club in a close contest by 11 runs to enter the finals of the tournament.
Batting first, JCC scored 179 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Paras Sharma was the top scorer with 61 runs.
In reply, Gorkha Cricket Club managed to score 168 runs, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 11 runs. Paras Sharma took 3 wickets. He was adjudged as the man of the match for his brilliant all-round display.
In another match, Simula Cricket Club defeated Shastri Cricket Club by 39 runs. Batting first, Simula CC scored 173 runs in 20 overs. Puneet Kumar top scored with quick-fire 79 runs, while Raman Dutta contributed 51 runs to the total.
In reply, Shastri Cricket Club scored 134 runs to lose the match by 39 runs. Raman Dutta took 3 wickets. He was declared as the ma of the match for his superb all-round show.
