BARAMULLA, July 19: Minister of State for R&B Health and Medical Education, Javed Ahmed Dar inaugurated the Football Tournament, organized by J&K Police, here today.
While addressing the Minister has asked the players to hone their playing skills which will provide them opportunity in representing the State at National and International level competitions.
Javed said the Government has initiated several measures to boost sports activities in urban and rural areas by way of holding intra and inter districts and inter-state Tournaments as well. He said the participation of local teams is quite encouraging and assured players for providing basic infrastructure at district, tehsil and block levels.
The Minister said that a number of stadia have already been constructed across the State aiming to boost sports activities and provide opportunities to the youth for displaying their talent. He said sports not only keep a person physically fit but a large number of players have got jobs in Government and semi-Government departments on the basis of their talent.
