BANDIPORA, July 19: Summer Shield T-20 Cricket Tournament concluded at Higher Secondary School, Nadihal yesterday evening. In all, 32 teams of Bandipora district participated in this Tournament. In the final match, Chittay Banday XI beat Abid Sports Club, Nadihal by 4 wickets.
District Development Commissioner, Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Lone was the chief guest while SP Bandipora, B A Khan, officers from district administration besides a sizeable number of sports lovers were present on the occasion.
Speaking to the gathering, the District Development Commissioner said that in order to promote sports activities, various playing fields are being developed in the district so that the children and the youth are provided opportunity of playing. He said that sports are an important part for creating a healthy society, thus the youth and children should also take part in various sports activities.
Later, trophies and medals were awarded to the winning team, runner up team, man of the match and man of the tournament.
