MENDHAR, Apr 22: Outplaying New Star Mendhar by 12 runs in a closely contested summit clash, Jatt Rangers lifted the title trophy of the Mendhar Shaheed Diwas T20 Cricket tournament, organised by the Army at the OP Hill Stadium, here.
The tournament is aimed at reaching out to the youth of Mendhar and to commemorate the martyrdom of the brave citizens of Mendhar Tehsil, who laid down their lives supporting the Army during the 1965 Indo-Pak War.
The youth from the areas of Mendhar Tehsil including Galuthi, Harni, Dharana, Salwah and Sakhi Maidan participated in the event.
The chief guest on the occasion gave away prizes to the winners, runners-up teams and the organizing committee.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were SDM Mendhar Dr Sahil Jandial; Local Unit Commanding Officer Col Adita Singh and MS Nazki, President Press Council of Mendhar.
