BAJALTA Feb 12: Jandrah Khiladis defeated Jandyal Conquerors, while Jagti Hurricanes won a sensational match against Kamini Shiv Nagar Nagrota in the Maruti Suzuki Nagrota Premier League Tournament, an initiative of MLA Devender Singh Rana, here.
Played in the sprawling Bajalta playfield, in the Nagrota Assembly Constituency, Jandyal Conquerors won the toss and elected to bat first. However, they scored just 66 runs by losing all 10 wickets in the 13.3 overs.
Jandrah Khiladis chased the target and won the match by 8 wickets in just 9 overs.
Ranjeev and Vishal from Jandrah Khiladis scored 14 and 27 runs respectively.
Atul was declared as man of the match for his superb bowling display, scalping 3 important wickets by conceding 15 runs in his 3 overs.
The second match was played between Jagti Hurricanes and Kamini Shiv Nagar Nagrota.
Kamini Shiv Nagar Nagrota won the toss and elected to bat first. Abhishek and Arshad contributed 42 and 20 runs respectively and helped Kamini Shiv Nagar Nagrota to score 124 runs in stipulated 14 overs, losing 5 wickets in the process. Taking off on a promising note and hitting big hits across the boundary, the batsmen of Jagti Hurricanes chased the target of 125 runs in 12 overs after losing 5 wickets only.
Rohit top scored with 48 runs, while Maheshwar and Pardeep contributed 30 and 29 runs respectively. For his brilliant knock, Rohit was declared as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Saleem-ur-Rehman and Pankaj Sasun from Department of Youth Services and Sports, J&K.
Sarpanch Nagrota, Rameshwar Dutt, Sarpanch Bajalta Ch Rehmat Ali, besides hundreds of cricket lovers from the constituency as also from Jammu witnessed the matches.
The matches were played under the overall supervision of Faheem Tak, vice president Take-1 Channel and member organizing committee.
