JAMMU, Aug 29: Jammu Tigers registered emphatic 7 wickets win over Jammu Warriors in the inaugural match of the J&K Peace T-20 Championship for Jammu School boys, which got underway at Parade Ground, here today.
Batting first, Jammu Warriors scored 47 runs in 16 overs. From Jammu Tigers side, Abay and Umar took 3 wickets each, while Tushar and Rahil also claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Jammu Tigers achieved the target in 8 overs for the lost of 3 wickets. Arya Sachivansh was the top scorer with 33 runs.
From Jammu Warriors side, Laith August, Vasu and Prabjot Singh took 1 wicket each.
Arya Sachivanch was adjudged as Man of the Match.
The tournament in which 5 teams are participating is being organized by Vishal Cricket Club Jammu on National Sports Day in collaboration with District Sports Council Jammu under the supervision of Rajesh Gill, former Ranji Player.
Earlier, Simrandeep Singh, DC Jammu, who is also the Chairman of District Sports Council Jammu inaugurated the Championship in presence of Ranjeet Kalra, Vice Chairman and member BCCI Committee, Romesh Kotwal, SP Headquarters Jammu, Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer, Vivek Shekhar, DySP City, Vinay Gupta, Chairman Vishal Cricket Club, Vijay Saberwal, President, Parade Sports Association, RP Singh, David Mattoo and Asif Gill.
While speaking, DC Jammu advised the budding cricketers to work hard in sports activities and prepare for national events and bring laurels for the State and country.
