Jammu Sanskriti School organizes inter-school competition ‘Gyanotsava’

JAMMU, May 20: Jammu Sanskriti School (JSS), organized first of its kind event, ‘Gyanotsava’- festival of languages here today.
It was an inter-school competition for promotion of languages like Dogri, Punjabi, Urdu, French and Sanskrit. The students from about 19 schools participated in the event with great zeal.
Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, Veena Gupta, Jagjit Singh, Dr Vijender Kumar and Deepti Gupta adjudged the competition. Sanchita Pradhan and Arnab Khajuria (founder Shilpkari Bazaar Jammu) graced the event as special guests.
The Programme started with traditional lighting of the lamp ceremony. It was witnessed by Rohini Aima (Principal cum Vice-Chairperson) and members of management and all area heads.
The valedictory function witnessed breathtaking performances. A mesmerizing Dogri role play captivated the spectators, showcasing the expressive and cultural depth of the language. The French dance performance embodied the spirit of international communications through languages.
In Urdu Nazam, first prize went to Shrya Dubey from JSS Jammu, 2nd prize to Mannat from JSS Kathua and 3rd prize went to Darin Jamshed from Heritage Public School whereas in the event of Sanskrit Gaan, Ist prize was bagged by Anika Jamwal from IDRS, 2nd prize by Utkarsh from APS Kaluchak and 3rd prize by Amogh Pangotra from JSS Jammu.
Vaishnavi of JSS Kathua, Monalika Sharma from APS Kaluchak and Shruti Baboria from JSS Jammu won 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes, respectively in Dogri Lok Geet while in Punjabi Gurbani Shabad, 1st prize went to Kartar Public School, 2nd prize to IDPS and 3rd prize to JSS Kathua
In French Poem Recitation, Ist prize was won by Aarnaa Gaur from Heritage School, 2nd prize by Sanidhi from JSS Jammu and 3rd prize went to Elina Choudhary from APS Kaluchak.
