JAMMU, Aug 20: The Resource Centre of GD Goenka Public School Jammu, governed by Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust, witnessed the congregation of Principals from the elite CBSE schools of Jammu to attend the General Body Meeting of Jammu Sahodaya Schools Complex (JSSC), here.
The agenda of the Principals’ Conclave was to discuss the core issues related to the nuances of effective holistic development in both scholastic & co-scholastic domains and also to review the Jammu Sahodaya activities hosted by various schools in the recent past.
The General Body Meeting commenced with a welcome address by the host school Principal, Rajesh Rathore, followed by a brief presentation on the topic, “The Principal: A creative leader for excellence in a school,”.
He reflected on the quote, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader”.
He also reiterated on the thought provoking idea- ‘the key to successful leadership is influence, not authority’.
After a light-hearted preliminary session, Nirmal Mahna, the General Secretary JSSC, briefed the House of the Sahodaya activities with élan and poise.
The events, which were postponed on account of certain unavoidable reasons, were finalized with dates and months. It was succeeded with a presentation by Vivek Arora, the Treasurer JSSC, about the Income and Expenditure Status for the current financial year.
Once the core issues were dealt with, the House was declared open by the President, JSSC and Principal, Heritage School, Jammu, JS Dhami.
The House also deliberated upon the formalities to be initiated with the CBSE Training Cell, Panchkula, for conducting a Capacity Building Workshop/ Seminar for the Principals/ Teachers. Having attended some national/ international Workshops/ Seminars at Delhi & Mumbai, some members expressed their desire to transform these GBMs into great learning opportunities for all.
At the end, Nirmal Mahna, the General Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude on behalf of Jammu Sahodaya to Rajesh Rathore, Principal, GD Goenka Public School, Jammu for hosting the meeting and for extending hospitality.
