JAMMU, Feb 2: Jammu Police XI and KC Sports Club registered emphatic wins over their rivals in the 4th Eid Diwali Christmas T20 Cricket Cup for students and youths of the state and entered into the final at Parade Ground , here today.
The tournament in which 24 teams are participating is being organized jointly by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department, Simula Sports Club, Atman Sports Club and Christian Sports Organization.
The Organizing Committee includes Hilal Rather,Sanjay Mahajan,Rajesh Gill, David Mattoo, Asif Gill, Rajesh Dhar, RP Singh, Sunil Sambyal and Sunny Gill.
The slogan of the tournament is “Khelo Khushi Sey- Par Nasha Mat karo”.
Batting first, Jammu Police XI scored a huge total of 185 runs in the stipulated 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Umar Nabi and Istiaq were the main scorers who made 38 runs each for Police XI. Sahil Sharma , Pranav and Narinder took 2 wickets each while Bansilal took 1 wicket for Evershine Club.
Evershine Cricket Club, in reply scored 119 runs, thus lost the match by 66 runs . Jagan and Sahil were the main scorers with 23 and 20 runs respectively. Aman Sharma took 3 wickets, while Rajesh Gill and Shamsher took 2 wickets each, while Ashraf and Maqsood shared 1 wicket each. Umar Nabi was adjudged as man of the match.
In second semifinal match, KC Sports Club defeated YCC Bhaderwah by 36 runs.
Batting first, KC Sports XI scored a mammoth total of 201 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 18 overs . Suryansh and Ateev Saini were the main scorers who made 88 and 55 runs respectively. Sourav took 2 wickets while Irshad and Khalid took 1 wicket each.
In reply, YCC managed to score 165 runs for the loss of 9 wickets, thus lost the match by 36 runs. Jaspreet and Irshad were the main scorers who made 51 and 39 runs for the team. Rohan took 3 wickets, Karan Bhat and Vivek took 2 wickets each, while Arjun and Abhishant shared 1 wicket each. Suryansh was declared as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Sandeep Manchanda, Vinod, Sunil Sambyal and Danny.
