RAJOURI, Sept 28: District Jammu and District Kupwara were among the four winners on day-1 of the State Level Inter-District Under-19 Boys Volleyball Tournament, which got underway at Mini Stadium, Sports Complex, here today.
District Budgam and District Ganderbal were the other winners in this 3-day Tournament, which is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports under the patronage of its Director General, Navin Aggarwal and under the overall supervision of Vaid Partkash, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, Jammu.
18 district teams from all over the State are participating in the Tournament, which was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Faqir Chand as chief guest, while RP Sharma, Principal SVS College for Women, Vidya Nagri, Rajouri was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Earlier, in the first match, District Ganderbal defeated District Doda by (3-1) sets, Kupwara drubbed Kishtwar by (3-0), Budgam outplayed Kulgam again by (3-0) and Jammu got better of Samba by (3-1) sets.
The matches were officiated by Wali Mohd, Mohd Hanif, Mohd Shabir Khan, Jamil Hussain, Khalid Hussain, Gulzar Ahmed, Bharat Bhushan and Anju Sharma.
