JAMMU, Dec 14: Jammu division senior selection chess tournament started today at Ace Chess Academy, Trikuta Nagar.
The tournament was inaugurated by Atul Kumar Gupta, president All J&K Chess Association and joint secretary All India Chess Federation.
“12 selected players from this event will be eligible for state championship to be held next month. The tournament is played as per Fide Laws of Chess” Atul informed.
Anil Kotwal is the chief arbiter of the event, Sumit Grover, Ajit Singh, Arvindu Sharma and Arushi Kotwal were leading after 3 rounds in which young players gave very tough fight to seniors .
The final rounds will be played on December 21, 2014.
Vijay Choudhary, Director of Ace Chess Academy is the organizing secretary of this event.
