JAMMU, Sept 7: Jammu district clinched the overall trophy of the Basketball event, during Divisional Level Inter District Tournament, organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports at Mini Stadium.
During under-14 girls final match, Jammu district beat Udhampur district by 4-0. Sarabjeet was the lone player, who scored the goals for winning team.
In under-14 boys final match, Jammu district thrashed Udhampur district by 22-6. For winning team, Shoaib and Satish scored 10 and 8 points respectively.
In under-19 years boys final match, Jammu district routed Udhampur district by huge margin of 47-11 points. Abhimanyu, Gurvinder and Rohan scored 17, 15 and 10 points respectively.
In under-19 years girls final match, Jammu district trounced Kathua district by 23-1. Preet Shagun scored the highest 12 points.
On the valedictory function, Dalbir Singh, Principal, Government SRML Higher Secondary School, Parade, was the chief guest, who distributed prizes among the winners.
It is to mention that, the selected players from the tournament will now participate in the forthcoming division tournament.
