JAMMU, Aug 21: Karan Gupta son of Ajay Gupta, resident of Gurha, Bakshi Nagar, Jammu, who has completed his B Tech (Honors) in Civil Engineering from IIT Bombay has been awarded with most prestigious Dr Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal at the 54th Convocation of the Institute held recently.
The award was conferred to Karan for being the most outstanding student in terms of general proficiency, excellence in academic performance, extra-curricular activities and social services among 2500 degree recipients.
Besides this medal, he has also been awarded with two other Gold Medals namely, Vidyasagar Nehra Gold Medal and Lt Prof Madhav Kulkarni Lt Col Gold Medal and Institute Silver Medal for being a topper.
It has been for the first time that these medals have been awarded to a student from Jammu and Kashmir. He has also been selected for Master’s Program at Stanford University and will be joining the University in fall 2016 session.
