BENGALURU, July 16: Eleven year old M P Jagruth of Karnataka brought laurels to the country by claiming the bronze in the Under 12 category at the 9th World Karate Youth Cup held at Ymag in Croatia recently.
A fifth Standard student of Indian Public School Jagruth had won the gold medal at the KAI Sub-Junior (U-10) National Karate championship 2015 held at Talkatora Indoor Stadium, New Delhi last year.
In the tournament held from June 27 to July 3, the budding 11 year old has to face tough competition from candidates from 65 countries.
Jagruth, is the new hope for Karate among kids as he has won a series of awards in the recent past. He has been practicing Karate from the age of 6 under the guidance of his father Mr M G Prasad, (Master trainer of Zen Sports and Fitness, who is also an international karate gold medallist). Jagruth has won many laurels and awards.
He has won medals at Shihan Bonnie Roberts Memorial National Karate championship 2012, international invitational open karate championship in 2012 and the sixth state level Dasara Karate championship. He has also represented Karnataka in Hyderabad at the sixth south India gymnastics championship in 2013.
Jagruth loves ferocious dogs and practices Karate twice a day though he never misses out on studies. (UNI)
