Zone Pouni and Marh emerge winners in Badminton, Kho-Kho

JAMMU, Sept 22: Department of Youth Services and Sports today organised Inter-Zonal District Level (IZDL) competitions of various disciplines in different districts.
JAMMU: U-17 Kho-Kho (boys) and U-19 Football (boys) matches were organised at Khel Gaon Nagrota. About 16 teams of both the disciplines participated under the overall supervision of DYSSO Jammu, Sukhdev Raj Sharma.
In Kho-Kho U-17 category: In the first semi-final match, Zone RS Pura beat Zone Satwari by 3 points, whereas Zone Marh beat Zone Akhnoor by 5 points in which Sahil took 3 points.
The final match was played between Zone Marh and Zone RS Pura wherein Marh defeated RS Pura by 7 points. Narinder from Zone R S Pura took 3 points and Yashpal, Sahil & Rajat from Zone Marh gave outstanding performance.
Football U-19 (boys): Zone Bhalwal beat Zone Bishnah by 1-0 in which Shubam secured goal for Bhalwal, whereas Zone Satwari defeated Zone Jourian by 2-0 goal wherein Gurpreet Singh clinched two goals for Satwari, Zone Zone Bhalwal trounced Zone Akhnoor by 3-1 goal in which Yuvraj Singh, Pranav & Prabhat Singh bagged goal and Zone Arnia better off on Zone RS Pura by 2-0 goal by plenty shoot out in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarter finals matches.
Football U-17 (boys): In first quarter final, Satwari beat Gandhi Nagar by 2-0. Shivam and Aditya secured each goal, whereas in 2nd quarter final match, Marh defeated Dansal by 1-0. Aditya Mahajan scored goal for Marh.
KATHUA: On the second day of the ongoing Inter Zonal District Level tournament, the DYSS organised Volleyball and Kho-Kho matches at Sports Stadium Kathua.
About 100 players participated in the Kho-Kho U-17 (boys) and Volleyball U-14 (boys).
Volleyball: Zone Malhar defeated Marcheen by 2-0 whereas Hiranagar beat Lakhanpur by 2-0 set.
Hiranagar emerged as winner against Malhar in semi-final match, whereas, final match was played between Hiranagar and sallan in which Sallan succeeded to clinch the match by 2 -0 sets.
Kho Kho: The final match was played between Bhaddu and Sallan in which Sallan won the match by 10 points.
The chief guest of the today’s event was Lal Hussain, AD Fisheries along with DYSSO Kathua Sunil Kumar.
REASI: After completion of tournament of Football, Cricket, Kho-Kho and Volleyball, DYSSO Reasi today started Inter-Zonal District Level tournament in discipline of Badminton U-17 at HSS Girls, here.
The four teams of Zones Mahore, Pouni, Reasi and Arnas are participating in the tournament.
In Doubles category: The first match was played between Zone Reasi and Zone Mahore in which Zone Reasi won the match too by 2-0, whereas 2nd match was played between Zone Pouni and Zone Arnas in which Pouni won the match by 2-0.The final match was played between Reasi and Pouni. The Pouni won the match from Reasi by 2-0.
Mahore defeated the Zone Reasi by 2-0 in singles U-17 match and Reasi trounced Pouni by 2-0 in singles U-14 match.
